XINSHAO · OEM INTERCONNECT SOLUTIONS

Waterproof Cable Assemblies

Custom sealed cable assemblies for equipment exposed to moisture, spray and demanding installation environments. Start with your drawing, mating interface and required protection conditions.

  • Connector, pinout, cable and branch customization
  • Sealing and strain relief reviewed as one assembly
  • Prototype approval before production release

Custom Sealed Interconnects for Your Equipment

Xinshao supports drawing-based waterproof cable assembly projects for OEM procurement and engineering teams. Configure circular connectors, sealed power interfaces, panel feedthroughs or branched layouts around your equipment.

Waterproof performance belongs to the complete assembly in a defined installation state. Specify the required ingress protection, exposure conditions and mating components before selecting the connector, cable jacket or sealing process. An overmold alone does not establish an assembly IP rating.

Engineering Decisions That Support Repeatable Builds

01

Interface Review

Confirm the exact mating part, locking method, seal set and assembly instructions.

02

Cable Customization

Align cable length, pinout, branches and exit orientation with the equipment layout.

03

Validation Planning

Agree water exposure, electrical checks and reporting before prototype approval.

04

Revision Control

Release the drawing, BOM and approved component alternatives together.

Select a Supplier Around the Complete Sealing System

Review the connector interface, cable entry and enclosure boundary together. Request the component application instructions and an assembly-level validation plan for the actual mating and mounting conditions.

Xinshao can review your drawings and BOM for manufacturability. Original connectors and proposed alternatives must be identified separately; any substitution needs your approval. Confirm required FAI, traceability and compliance documentation during RFQ review.

Configure the Cable Around Your Installation

waterproof-pinout-routing
waterproof-panel-interface

Specify connector manufacturer and part numbers, mating halves, contact arrangement, pinout, conductor size, shield construction, finished length and tolerances. Include branch dimensions, cable exits and enclosure interfaces.

Define whether protection is required while mated, unmated with a cap, or permanently installed. Add temperature, chemicals, UV exposure, movement, cleaning method and service access requirements so material selection reflects actual use.

Development follows requirement review, component and tooling assessment, prototype build, agreed verification and customer approval before production release. Timing and tooling costs depend on component availability, design complexity, order quantity and validation scope.

waterproof-material-selection

Materials Selected by Exposure

Choose cable jacket, seals and molding material as a compatible system. Material family names alone do not establish resistance to every temperature or chemical.

  • Specify PVC, PU, PTFE or XLPE by the approved cable specification
  • Match cable outside diameter to the connector seal range
  • Review fluid exposure, bend requirements and jacket-to-overmold adhesion
waterproof-assembly-inspection

Manufacturing & Acceptance

Define the assembly instructions and acceptance criteria before production. Electrical inspection and environmental qualification answer different questions.

  • Check pinout, continuity, dimensions and connector assembly
  • Agree insulation, dielectric and pull-strength requirements where applicable
  • Specify ingress test method, assembly state, sample plan and required records

Waterproof Cable Assemblies: Procurement Guide

Resolve sealing conditions and acceptance requirements before requesting a production quotation.

State the required rating and test conditions in the RFQ. Feasibility and any resulting claim must be confirmed for the selected components, assembled cable and intended installation. A connector rating does not automatically establish the rating of the finished equipment.
Check the exact connector documentation. Many ratings apply to a specified mated condition; a disconnected interface may need an approved sealing cap. Define the required service state before design approval.
Do not assume immersion protection establishes pressure-wash suitability. Supply the cleaning pressure, temperature, distance, chemicals and duration so the correct requirement and validation method can be agreed.
Send drawings or a sample, BOM, mating connector part numbers, pinout, cable and length requirements, operating environment, ingress requirements, quantities, annual demand and delivery destination. Submit available information first if the specification is incomplete.
Agree prototype acceptance, the environmental qualification scope and routine production checks separately. Record the approved drawing revision and test plan before release. Lead times depend on materials, tooling, quantities and approval steps.
Alternatives may change mating geometry, seal behavior, electrical ratings or qualification scope. Identify the proposed part and obtain approval; compare total tooling, validation and lifecycle costs rather than unit price alone.
